Pfizer Singapore Returns Jobs Support Scheme Funding to The Government
The Jobs Support Scheme (JSS) was announced at Budget 2020 to provide wage support to help companies retain their local employees during this period of economic uncertainty.
At Pfizer Singapore, we made a unanimous decision to give back the April JSS payout to the Singapore government and decline all future payouts so that the funding can be redirected to help other companies and individuals in need. The April JSS payout amounts to $3.2million.
We take pride in being able to give back to the community that we work in. It also demonstrates our long-term commitment to contribute to Singapore’s economy and society.
Our giving does not stop with the return of the JSS payout. In a joint-industry effort led by Singapore Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (SAPI), Pfizer Singapore is supporting an initiative to donate masks and medical equipment to healthcare organizations in need.
The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented crisis on many fronts. To help vulnerable individuals and families impacted by COVID-19, Pfizer Singapore employees are raising funds for The Courage Fund. Their donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the company.
