Erectile Dysfunction |
| |
|
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is the name given to the condition in which
a man is unable to achieve and / or maintain an erection sufficient
for him to enjoy sexual activity. Men with ED often retain other sexual
functions, however, such as sexual desire and the ability to ejaculate.
ED creates mental, emotional and physical stress. It causes sufferers
to avoid intimate situations with their partners, and this can adversely
affect how they interact with their families.
Because of the emotional pain associated with ED, many sufferers make
excuses and try to forget their condition rather than seek treatment.
About half of all men between the ages of 40 and 70 years are affected
to some degree with erectile dysfunction (ED). Most cases are caused
by an underlying medical condition, such as hypertension or diabetes.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia |
| |
|
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BHP) is an enlargement of the prostate
gland, which is located below a man's bladder. This enlargement compresses
the urethra (the passage through which urine flows), resulting in
increasing impairment of the urinary function.
If BPH is not detected early it may worsen, leading to swelling and
pain in the abdomen, and ultimately failure of the bladder muscles
and incontinence.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) occurs in more than 30% of men
over the age of 50.
